- Have the correct cart outside by 7:00 a.m.
- Point the lid arrow toward the street or alley.
- Keep the lid fully closed.
- Leave 1.5 metres on both sides.
- Leave 3 metres of overhead clearance.

Yard-waste sites generally operate from April to mid-November, daily from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Branches up to 6 feet long and 8 inches in diameter, leaves, grass, garden trimmings, weeds, fallen fruit and clean unpainted pumpkins.
Use paper yard-waste bags no larger than 30 gallons. Fold or roll the top; do not use tape or staples.
No stumps, root balls, dirt, sod, lumber, fence posts, garbage, commercial loads or plastic-bagged yard waste.
Since April 1, 2026, residents can drop clean mattresses and box springs at the seasonal yard-waste sites during operating hours. Residents must unload their own items. Bed-bug-contaminated mattresses must be wrapped in plastic and taken to the Waste & Recycling Centre.
Alberta’s elm pruning ban runs from April 1 through September 30. Diseased elm branches must go to the Waste & Recycling Centre rather than a neighbourhood yard-waste site.
