What Goes Out This Week in Burnaby?
For houses and duplexes, the weekly route always includes the green bin and recycling. Garbage joins them only during the matching A/B “G” week.

Do not dump garden waste in parks, ravines or natural areas. Burnaby warns that it can spread invasive plants, attract wildlife and contaminate water; fines can reach $2,000.

Put accepted food and food-soiled paper in the weekly green bin. This reduces smell, weight and volume inside the garbage cart.
Separate depot recyclables
Flexible plastics, foam, electronics, batteries, paint, propane containers and scrap metal may have Eco-Centre routes.
Consider a cart-size change
If correct sorting still leaves the lid open regularly, request a different garbage-bin size. The current houses page lists a $52 exchange service fee; verify before submitting.
It does not accept furniture, mattresses or ordinary garbage. For non-recyclable excess waste, use an approved disposal facility found through Metro Vancouver’s recycling and waste-location tool.
