Quinte West Garbage Pickup 2026: Find Your Day, Map and Holiday Changes
Search your address first because Quinte West routes changed on July 21, 2025. This guide then gives the exact 7:00 a.m. set-out rule, Easter and Christmas changes, bag-tag limits, green-bin and recycling preparation, missed-pickup contacts, yard-waste dates, bulky-item fees and depot options.
Quick Answer: Check Your Quinte West Garbage Schedule
Quinte West does not have one citywide garbage weekday. Use the official address map to identify your Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday route. Garbage, weekly green-bin organics and recycling use the same weekday for eligible curbside properties, but holiday weeks can move collection earlier.
Find the current route
Search the exact property address. Do not copy a nearby street or rely on a calendar saved before July 21, 2025.
Check the date
Review Easter, Canada Day, Christmas and New Year changes before using the regular weekday.
Prepare each stream
Tag garbage, keep organics in the green bin and separate recycling containers from paper and cardboard.
Be ready by 7:00 a.m.
The City gives a set-out deadline, not a guaranteed truck arrival time.
Collection days changed during the July 2025 recycling transition. An old fridge calendar, screenshot or neighbour’s routine can now give the wrong answer.

The route map uses four weekday colours and repeats the core rules: tagged garbage, no more than four bags per week, no bag over 40 lb, green-bin collection on the regular curbside day and all eligible material out by 7:00 a.m.
Where can I get a printed 2026 calendar?
Municipal pickup locations include Quinte West City Hall at 7 Creswell Drive and the Frankford Municipal Office at 22 North Trent Street. The City also lists participating convenience stores in Trenton, Murray, Sidney and Frankford. Check availability before making a special trip.

Quinte West holiday collection is not always delayed. Several 2026 routes move one day earlier, which means material placed out on the normal morning may already be late.

Quinte West Garbage Pickup Times and Curbside Placement
The official rule is to place eligible waste at the curb the night before or by 7:00 a.m. Collection vehicles can change route order, so yesterday’s truck time is not a reliable promise.
Collection-morning checklist
- Confirm the address-based weekday.
- Check for an earlier holiday collection.
- Have everything ready by 7:00 a.m.
- Keep bags and bins accessible to the crew.
- Keep sidewalks, traffic lanes and mailboxes clear.
- Clear snow and ice around the set-out point.
Common missed-pickup triggers
- Using a pre-July-2025 collection day.
- Setting material out after 7:00 a.m.
- Hiding bags behind a parked vehicle or snowbank.
- Using an untagged or overweight garbage bag.
- Leaving frozen organics stuck inside the green bin.
- Putting unsorted or contaminated material in recycling.
Quinte West garbage pickup times can vary by route conditions, staffing, weather and vehicle order. The only safe time is the official 7:00 a.m. set-out deadline.
Quinte West Garbage Bag Tags: Price, Placement and Limits
Each curbside garbage bag needs a current Quinte West tag. The tag belongs on the bag—not on the garbage can—and it must remain visible to the collector.
Loop the tag once
Do not wrap it repeatedly around the bag neck or stick it down the bag as a long strip. The official guidance warns that cold temperatures can make improperly attached tags fall off.
Tag the top bag
Place the tag on the top bag inside the container so it is visible when the collector removes the lid. Do not attach the tag to the can itself.
Garbage-container requirements
- Reusable galvanized-metal or plastic container.
- Maximum capacity of 77 litres.
- No more than 40 lb when prepared for collection.
- Usable carrying handles.
- Secure, watertight lid.
Quinte West Waste Decision Helper: Get the Correct Next Step
Choose the material or problem and your property situation. This helper does not guess a collection date; it directs you to the correct local workflow.
Garbage, Green Bin and Recycling on Your Quinte West Collection Day
The three main residential streams use the same weekday, but they are prepared differently and have different customer-service contacts.
Tagged household waste
- Current tag on every bag.
- Maximum four bags per week.
- Maximum 40 lb per bag.
- No construction or demolition debris.
Weekly household organics
- Collected weekly on the garbage day.
- No garbage tag required.
- Use the 79-litre City green bin.
- Prevent material from freezing inside.
Circular Materials programme
- E360 provides local collection service.
- Separate containers from fibre.
- Keep material clean, dry and empty.
- Keep batteries and sharps out.
What can go in the Quinte West green bin?
Meat, fish, bones, dairy, eggs, fruit and vegetable scraps, bread, pasta, grains, coffee grounds, tea, food-soiled paper, napkins, paper plates and greasy pizza boxes.
Plastic bags and wrap, diapers, pet waste or litter, sanitary products, glass, metal, foam, grease, liquids, yard waste, medicine and treated wood.
Frozen contents may not release during collection. Drain excess liquid, keep wet material contained with an accepted liner and loosen frozen material before setting the bin out.
Quinte West Recycling Preparation and “Oops Sticker” Fixes
A yellow “oops” sticker means the recycling needs correction. It is not a request to add a garbage tag or place the same material out unchanged.
Prepare the fibre stream
- Flatten cardboard to no more than 60 × 60 cm.
- Empty and flatten boxboard.
- Place shredded paper in a tied clear plastic bag.
- Remove rope handles and unrelated plastic covering.
- Keep books and novels out of curbside recycling.
Prepare containers correctly
- Empty and remove food residue.
- Give containers a quick rinse.
- Keep material clean, dry and loose.
- Keep hazardous aerosol containers out.
- Follow the material-specific cap or lid instruction.
Why recycling may be left behind
These items can injure workers or start fires in collection vehicles and processing facilities. Use an approved battery, hazardous-waste or sharps programme.

Quinte West Christmas Tree Collection
The 2026 calendar listed free curbside collection of bare natural Christmas trees on January 5 and January 12, 2026. Those dates have passed. For trees after Christmas 2026, use the next annual calendar rather than assuming the same January dates will repeat.
Natural trees only
- Remove the stand.
- Remove lights and ornaments.
- Remove tinsel, bags and wrapping.
- Keep the tree accessible to the crew.
Frankford depot
Natural Christmas trees may also be accepted through the yard-waste route when prepared correctly. Verify the live depot hours before travelling.
Does the Residential Schedule Apply to Your Property?
Use the address map
Eligible detached and small residential properties should use the mapped weekday and standard curbside rules.
Ask the building first
Shared dumpsters, private hauling, collection rooms and superintendent instructions can replace the municipal curbside process.
Confirm the set-out point
Use the map, then confirm whether waste belongs at the driveway entrance, a shared collection point or another accessible location.
