Winter Collection, Rural Roads and Seasonal Properties
A route can be delayed even when weather near the house seems manageable. Heavy collection vehicles require safe road width, overhead clearance and a suitable turnaround.
- Plow the road at least 4 m / 12 ft wide.
- Apply sand or salt during icy conditions.
- Cut vegetation back 5 m / 15 ft high.
- Maintain at least 4 m / 12 ft horizontal clearance.
- Fill potholes and grade the road as needed.
- Provide a safe truck turnaround.
