Newmarket Garbage Schedule 2026: Check Today’s Pickup, Recycling and Yard Waste

Newmarket does not have one citywide garbage date. Your home follows a Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday area. Garbage and recycling alternate every other week, Green Bin organics are collected weekly, and yard waste runs every other week from April to early December. Start with the official 2026 calendar or Recycle Coach, then follow the exact action below.

Newmarket Recycling Schedule Today and 2026 Cart Rules

Newmarket recycling is collected every other week. Since the end of 2025, Circular Materials manages the residential recycling programme and GFL provides collection service. Recycling questions no longer use the regular Town waste contact.

Prepare the cart

Clean, dry, loose and lid closed

  • Place only accepted recycling in the cart.
  • Keep containers clean, dry and empty.
  • Do not bag recyclables.
  • Flatten cardboard to save cart space.
  • Keep the lid completely closed.
Position the cart

Wheels toward the home

  • Place wheels away from the curb.
  • Position the lid so it opens toward the street.
  • Allow at least 3 feet of clearance.
  • Use a flat surface clear of snow and ice.
  • Set the cart out by 7 a.m.
Missed recycling uses a different contact

Call 1-833-779-4351 or email N6Recycling@gflenv.com for missed recycling, cart inquiries and recycling accommodation.

  • Bag and tie all organic material.

Remove glass from table tops, cabinets and similar items. Take large mirrors and significant glass to an approved disposal facility.

Metal and appliances

Booking is still required

Barbecues without propane tanks, furnaces, water heaters, bicycles and appliances require a large-item tag and scheduled collection.

Missed Garbage, Green Bin, Recycling or Yard Waste

Check the cause before calling. Correctly prepared material uses one contact; recycling uses another.

Run this diagnosis

Before reporting

  • Was today the correct date and stream?
  • Was material out before 7 a.m.?
  • Has the 7 a.m.–7 p.m. route window ended?
  • Was each item under 22 kg?
  • Was garbage within the limit and properly tagged?
  • Was the material visible and unblocked?
