LaSalle Garbage Rules: Six Bags or Cans, 45 Pounds Each
Weekly curbside garbage is for normal household waste. Correct containers, weight and placement matter as much as the pickup date.
Use acceptable bags or cans
- Maximum six bags or cans per collection.
- Tie commercial-grade garbage bags securely.
- The calendar recommends bags around 26 by 36 inches.
- Cans may be up to 125 litres or 30 gallons.
- Cans need two handles and a watertight lid.
- Each bag or can must be no more than 45 pounds or about 20 kilograms.

Ammunition, animal carcasses or waste, appliances, automotive parts, bricks, chemicals, computers, concrete, construction debris, explosives, industrial or liquid waste, medical waste, metal, pallets, paint, renovation debris, syringes, televisions and tires need another route.
LaSalle Recycling in 2026: Single-Stream Cart and Zone Dates
Since January 1, 2026, accepted paper and packaging go together in the assigned recycling cart. Collection remains every two weeks, but residents must use the cart provided for the property.

A liner is not required. When using one, choose a certified compostable liner displaying an accepted BPI or BNQ certification mark—not a regular plastic bag.
The programme covers eligible single-family homes and multi-residential properties with up to six units that receive curbside garbage and recycling. Residents of larger buildings should follow property-management instructions.
